Are tattoos good for your health? Are humans evolved to get tattooed? In this talk, anthropologist Christopher Lynn talks about why tattooing could be as old as the human species and how important tattooing has been for psychological and physical health, from Ötzi the Iceman to SEC football fans.
Dr. Christopher Lynn is a Professor of Anthropology at the University of Alabama. He specializes in cultural impacts on health, with an emphasis an tattooing, immune function, and the South Pacific. He conducts tattoo research in the United States and Pacific Island countries with support from crowdfunding, the National Science Foundation, and Wenner Gren Foundation and cohosts a peer-to-peer tattoo research podcast called Inking of Immunity.
